Purpose
This policy sets out the procedure temporary workers must follow when reporting sickness absence and explains eligibility for Statutory Sick Pay (SSP).
Reporting Sickness Absence (Mandatory Procedure)
To be considered for any SSP payments, you must follow this procedure:
Failure to follow this procedure will result in no payment being processed and will affect eligibility for Statutory Sick Pay.
Evidence of Sickness
Absences longer than 7 days require a fit note from a GP or medical professional
Non-Compliance
Failure to report sickness correctly or provide required information may result in absence being treated as unauthorised and will affect SSP entitlement.
Acknowledgement of Policy (Temporary Workers Agreement)
By accepting work assignments through the agency, you confirm that you have read, understood, and agree to comply with this sickness absence policy.
You understand that failure to follow the reporting procedure may result in non-payment of SSP or
wages relating to the absence.
